The Story Of SecurePoint USA
SecurePoint USA was founded by practitioners — professionals whose careers were spent inside compliance-driven, security-sensitive, and operationally demanding environments.
Too many organizations in regulated industries still rely on paper logs, disconnected workflows, and outdated access procedures. These gaps create real liability.
A modern visitor management platform built specifically for compliance-heavy environments — combining real-time screening with audit-grade documentation.
SecurePoint USA is not a repackaged kiosk. It was shaped by a founder who discovered serious vulnerabilities firsthand, and a team with deep federal credentials.
Leadership
Founder & CEO
Timothy Jones founded SecurePoint USA after years of working inside regulated, security-sensitive, and operationally demanding environments where trust, compliance, and accountability were mission-critical.
His career has spanned public safety and law enforcement exposure, licensed Medicare advisory work, HIPAA-sensitive client services, secure facility access environments including enterprise campuses and airports, real estate and regulated client handling, consumer technology operations, and senior retail leadership. In that last role, he led teams that grew an underperforming store from $1.7 million to $3.8 million in annual revenue — demonstrating the operational discipline and execution focus he brings to SecurePoint today.
The turning point came when Timothy identified a serious vulnerability in a state system involving exposed personal information. That discovery crystallized what he had already seen across industries: weak processes create real risk, and better systems are overdue.
He founded SecurePoint USA to build practical, modern solutions that help organizations improve visitor accountability, strengthen compliance workflows, and operate with greater confidence.
Compliance Consultant
Darrel Jones brings more than 25 years of experience in federal regulatory compliance, spanning aviation, defense, and the firearms industry. For 13 years he served as Compliance Officer at a defense and firearms manufacturer, where he built and managed a full-scope export compliance program covering ITAR, EAR, BATFE, and DOD requirements.
In that role, Darrel was responsible for end-to-end export control operations: classification of defense articles and dual-use items, license determinations, internal audits, and government liaison work. He has held FAA-designated inspection responsibilities in aerospace environments and holds certifications from BIS (Bureau of Industry and Security) and ECTI (Export Compliance Training Institute) in export compliance and defense trade controls.
His regulatory expertise covers the full spectrum: EAR (Export Administration Regulations), ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), FAA, BATFE, DOD, and the relevant sections of the CFR. At SecurePoint USA, Darrel provides the compliance backbone that ensures our visitor screening and ITAR/EAR workflows are built on accurate regulatory foundations — not approximations.
Full Stack Engineer
Matthew Cornell is the Full Stack Engineer behind SecurePoint USA's visitor management and compliance platform. He brings a practical, builder-first approach to software: understand the real-world requirement, then build something that actually works for the people using it every day.
At SecurePoint USA, Matthew has implemented the compliance-focused screening workflows aligned with OFAC, ITAR, EAR, CMMC, and DFARS requirements, as well as AI-assisted login functionality. His background combines full-stack development with years of experience in high-accountability, customer-facing environments — a combination that shapes how he thinks about reliability, usability, and the cost of getting something wrong.
Matthew bridges technical architecture and day-to-day usability, ensuring the platform is both capable and dependable. When a compliance requirement changes or a new integration is needed, he is the person who turns that requirement into working technology.
Credentials
We bring the kind of background that most compliance software vendors simply do not have. Authentic experience in high-stakes environments.
Our compliance consultant holds BIS and ECTI certifications and spent 13 years as an ITAR/EAR Compliance Officer in the defense industry. Our workflows are built on accurate regulatory knowledge.
Our founder has worked inside HIPAA-sensitive services, secure enterprise facilities, licensed regulated industries, and high-volume operations — the exact environments our customers come from.
SecurePoint USA was shaped in part by the direct discovery of a serious state-system vulnerability. We build with that lesson in mind: weak processes create real, measurable risk.
Our platform is built by an engineer with hands-on experience in high-accountability environments. Compliance features are implemented correctly, not approximated.
Core Principles
Security is not an add-on. It is built into every workflow, every audit log, and every access control decision we make.
Regulations exist for a reason. We take ITAR, EAR, OFAC, HIPAA, and CMMC requirements seriously because our customers' operations depend on getting them right.
A system that is technically correct but too hard to use will be bypassed. We build for the frontline employee, not just the compliance officer.
Every visit logged. Every screening documented. Every audit trail complete. Accountability is not a feature — it is the product.
